Sun Shade Supports - over fire pit patio
We want to put up a sun shade over the fire pit patio for next summer.
Since there are often disagreements about the proper size of fires being made, it seems best to create a system where the sun shade can be quickly removed before making a fire. Three stout supports are the start of this project.
Note the supports on the two outer corners, and the third support in the back, in the middle of the Lilac bushes.

Support attached to bottle railing fence - also has pully on extension
rear support - welded steel hiding in the Lilacs
Modular Shop Tool Stand
"Modular Tool Stand" sounds pretty high tech and fancy. It is not. I built this out of 2x4 a couple of years ago, and use it to maximize my work space. Grinders, router, scroll saw and band saw are all mounted on 18x18 boards that 'drop in' the work stand. Usually the tools are stored on shelf or hanging on wall when not in use.
Obviously, I also use to paint stuff too.

Scroll saw - on stand
French cleats holding grinders - one is for sharpening (lathe tools) and buffing - other is wire wheel and rough grinder
Band saw hanging on wall - (hole in board and bolt in wall - super fancy)

old Wine Bottle tree dies. . . .
It appears that our old wine bottle tree contracted a bad
case of ‘Carrie-Nation-Teetotalers’ disease (alcoholus-abstinus-arberitus), and
the lower half of the tree dies of a cirrhosis like decay. As sometimes happens in nature, however, it
appears that the old tree left a few seeds to start a new tree, or two.

Ford Radiator Cowl Shelf
I am not sure if this is a Model T or a Model A radiator cowl. Found the cowl at a flea market (actually Hobby Mommy found it) . . .
I turned it into a shelf.

I turned it into a shelf.
I am not really sure what is in the jar on the left side, but it is probably good for whatever ails you.... |
