I’ve been working on a pull down knife drawer.  I still need to incorporate a knife divider, but so far this is turning out OK.  

 

... and for a classy photo shoot, make sure to have a half empty $5 bottle of wine in the picture.   :)

Clothes Valet:

 While I enjoy creating unique items like this, I do have a day job to pay the bills. (…think ‘corporate casual’)  A Clothes Valet is a place where I can hang my clothes the night before. This prevents rummaging in the closet in the near dark, half asleep trying to find an outfit for the office in the early morning hours.

I made these from antique door knobs.  I used some of the leftover wainscot from the base so it matches the rest of the room.

Corporate wear

This amazingly beautiful family heirloom needle craft needed a frame.  Since I could not find a frame that worked, I made this one out of Maple.

Here are two of the shop assistants at the Old Raven Workshop.  Keeva and Thunder.  Thunder really enjoys inspecting the shipping boxes.  (That means 'chewing' on them).

   Junior assistant Rocket missed this photoshoot, I believe he was busy in the yard chasing something.

Here are a few things I have been working on.  I made a few coat hooks and assorted items.  I put some on Etsy.  I had the idea quite a while ago, I finally got some of them put together.

For these I used Oak for the base.  I finished them with 5 coats of hand brushed lacquer.  They all have key hole slots in the back for hanging. I also coated the metal with a light coat of poly so that the metal does not rust.  Considering they are made from welded steel and oak, these are probably the most durable coat hangers on the market!  Of course, I am going for a 'fine' finish and a unique item, I think these qualify.

Single Tree light: Antique single tree (whipple tree), used antique pint sized mason jars and candelabra sockets and bulbs.  I opened the bottoms of the mason jars to make proper light 'globes' of them.  The project works well with the 'country' theme in this home.  (Thanks for the pictures Sandie!  Nice job installing Robbie!)

The old pallet is now a coffee table:

 
Refinished the wood (Tamarack / Larch / Meleze) leaving the distress marks, refurbished and sealed the metal, added wheels and increased the height to standard coffee table height.

The Pulley light:   Started with an old wooden pulley from antique sale; now it is a light.

and the Bench:  The bench is made from a piece of timber that was from the Maple tree that used to be in the back yard.

I put on several good coats of spar varnish so it should hold up well to any weather.
