I don't usually post recipes (actually 'never'), but this is really good! Not posting a picture because it looks absolutely disgusting. But it is delicious!
Old Raven’s Pub Cheese
4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
16 ounces cheddar cheese (fine shredded)
3 ounces beer
2 tablespoon half/half
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon capers (because capers are good in everything)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons paprika
1 dash hot sauce
Put all of the ingredients (except cheddar cheese) in mixer or food processor. Blend it into a homogeneous, disgusting looking mess; then fold in the shredded cheddar. It should look even more disgusting.
Keep in the fridge. When having adult beverage, enjoy with crackers.
For non-alcohol, skip the beer and double the half/half and vinegar.
Note: I tried several versions I found online. None of them were quite what I was after. I took several recipes, combined and modified a few. This is what I came up with. Posting it to share.
Note #2: If you made a 'cheese ball' kinda thing out of the Pub Cheese, and sprinkled it with dried parsley or something similar, it might look nice enough to serve to friends. I don't know - maybe it depends on the type of friends you have.
Note #3: While searching through recipes on Pinterest and several cooking sites, I noticed that there is always a bunch of blah-blah crap BEFORE you get to the recipe. Just share the damn recipe. I don't want to read about how your old Nana lovingly made you this pub cheese on your birthday every year and how it brings back those special memories. Put the heartwarming blah-blah crap at at the end. Like I did here.
You are welcome.
We decided to make an Art Corner to highlight some of the art friends and family have done. The Coffee bag is just there 'cause we liked it.....

Chicken COOP is DONE !!!!!!!

First stage in creating a new chicken run
I have built the new chicken run. That was the big part. Next I will design a new coop that attaches to the outside of the run, and sits between the run and the shed. Once that is done, I can remove the old coop that is currently sitting inside the run.
Better weather protection for the birds, less noise for the neighbors, and it provides additional privacy for the fire pit. (the trash cans are actually feed and scratch grains for the girls)
this is what we started with - functional, but looks pretty rough |
